sometimes you just shouldn’t argue. you should just unfollow. when someone you’re only tangentially related to reblogs a gross post, you will not convince them of anything because the reason they reblogged that post is that they are probably following, and are friends with, a ton of people who endorse that dehumanizing, me-first content.
Someone who comes at them like “no, stop” is not going to convince them of anything or teach them anything because they have a personal investment in all of those other people you aren’t seeing. Asking them to choose between somebody who gave them a “no,” over a chorus of people chanting, “yes, yes, yes!” will never favor you.
